  Getting Ready for the Fair   Mom, O Mom, please, tie my hair; I need to look cute; Daddy will take me to the fair And buy me a flute.   I will ride and ride a lot there On the merry-go-round; My joy I will with you share After I return from the fairground.   Mom, O Mom, why will you not go? Please! I want both of you! I will enjoy there the magic show; Mom, please! I do love you!   You know I’m a little child; I love eating every ice cream; The chocolate syrup should be mild; Of funnel cakes I do dream.   I need a beautiful doll; With her I will always play; I’ll go there to every stall; I’ll have animals of clay.   I love eating those peanuts; I’ll crack their shells and chew; Those toy palaces and toy huts Will be mine and always new.   I wish I would see my friends Somewhere in the fair; The happiness never ends, Flying in the air.   I will have the water balls; ...
