A Juvenile Song

I’m still too young;

I’m a little child;

Give me ice creams;

I’ll stay this mild.

I love chocolate bars,

But I’ll soon grow up;

I’ll jump, I’ll dance

And I’ll sing with my cup.

I listen to myself;

I snap with my fingers;

I sing from my heart;

My happiness lingers.

I’m full of life;

I clap with my palms;

I share my things

With all my chums.

The elders sometimes

Seem to say,

“Enjoy your childhood

Every day.”

What they all say

I don’t understand;

I do obey them;

I hold mom’s hand.

I love my mom;

I love my dad;

They give me all

That they have had.

I go to school;

I read and play;

I draw and sing

Each and every day.

I lisp sweetly;

I love my rhymes;

I speak the truth

All the times.

I love my friends;

I help them all;

I’ll never laugh at

Any if they fall.

I’m a little child

Who wants to know;

I love the rainbow;

I play with snow.

I’m never naughty;

I’ll always be good;

I do love to sing

About my childhood.

I love my doggie;

I love my pets;

I come back from play

Before the sun sets.

If I make promises,

I must them keep;

I must speak the truth

From my heart so deep.
