Punctuality

The story-- "John's Bad Habit"

“It is extremely important to be punctual. If we are punctual, we will become successful in life, for sure.”

John was a student of class III. He was a brilliant boy. He was a hard worker indeed. Therefore, he used to earn good results every year.

Anyway, John had a very bad habit. What was that? He had a very bad habit of coming late. Yes, he was a latecomer, for sure. However, this was no more tolerable to the teachers.

One day, they called his mother to school to tell her of his coming late every day.

On that very day, John came back home. His mother did not scold him. Instead, she advised him, “I know that you go to bed too late. But why?”

John answered his mother, “Mom, I indulge in reading storybooks.”

Then she told him, “Of course, you will read storybooks, but not at late night. If you go to bed early, you will be able to get up early too. So, you will no more be late for school. Don’t worry. I know that you love reading storybooks. Fine, I’ll make a routine for you when you will do what. If you follow your mother, nobody ever will scold you, dear. Nobody at all.”

John replied, “Sure, Mom. I will surely follow the routine. After all, I need to maintain punctuality to succeed in my life.”

Then his mother said, “I know, dear, that you will surely succeed. Just be punctual.”
