Have Mercy upon All Living Creatures

“Love each and every living creature. We should have mercy upon all living beings.”

Do you feel merciful towards the animals, towards the birds, towards the worms, towards the insects, towards the trees and towards each and every human being? This is a story to arouse such feeling among you all, my little friends. Hope, you enjoy it with all your heart.

The story-- "The Two Sisters"

Amanda and Maria were two sisters. The former was nine years of age while the latter was twelve years old. Amanda was always too scared of ants. As a result, Maria, the elder sister, used to rub the ants to death whenever Amanda freaked out. One day, this happened in the presence of their mother. She noticed everything. Then she did not say anything. However, a couple of days later, she called them and said, “I know that Amanda is too scared of ants, but you don’t need to kill them, Maria. They, too, are living creatures. Therefore, we should never kill them mercilessly. We should always be merciful to every living creature, be it an ant or be it an elephant. If we don’t disturb others, they won’t do the same with us as well.” Both the sisters listened to their mother carefully and promised her that they would not do the same anymore.
